01
Use the best preset for your exact setup
Choose the dedicated game-and-wheel guide from the force feedback library and copy its recommended values first. Each page separates manufacturer or game guidance from community-derived refinements.
Do not transfer torque percentages between bases with different maximum output. Use the profile for your exact hardware, platform, and game, then make small comfort adjustments after driving it unchanged.
02
Understand the signal chain
Wheelbase strength, damping, friction, inertia, interpolation, and force-effect scaling affect different parts of the output. The simulator has its own gain and effect controls, so changing two layers at once makes the result difficult to diagnose.
Start from documented values where they exist. Treat owner presets as testable hypotheses, and keep platform-specific instructions separate.
03
Preserve signal headroom
When output saturates, distinct strong inputs are rendered at the same ceiling. Test a sustained high-load corner and reduce game gain if steering load stops varying as the car and track forces change.
Choose a comfortable hardware torque limit before refining detail. Follow the manufacturer's safety instructions and stop if impacts or sustained force are painful or unpredictable.
04
A three-lap tuning procedure
Choose a familiar car and circuit with slow and fast corners, kerbs, and a heavy braking zone. Run three laps at the starting preset. If steering clips, lower overall game strength. If the car oscillates on straights, add a small amount of damping. If surface detail feels gritty, add one filtering step.
Repeat with only one change. Record the game version, platform, driver or firmware, wheel rim, base torque mode, and every value. A saved, versioned preset is more useful than an unexplained screenshot.
05
Choose the guide for your hardware
The force feedback library covers Fanatec GT DD Pro, CSL DD, ClubSport DD and DD+, plus Logitech G PRO profiles for GT7 and F1 25 on PS5. The same base needs different gain and filtering in each simulation.
Use only natively PlayStation-compatible hardware for PS5 guides. Check the manufacturer compatibility list before buying or copying a profile.
